Farm Life

A glimpse into daily rhythms on our organic farm, from first light planting to golden hour harvest.

Moments from the Field

Every day on the farm brings something new. Here are some of our favorite moments from recent weeks.

Golden Hour on the Farm

As the sun sets behind Sakurajima, the farm takes on a warm glow. This is our favorite time of day, when the work is done and the air smells of fresh earth and growing things.

Our hens are early risers. By 7am, the nesting boxes are full of warm, rich eggs with deep orange yolks.

Marigolds deter pests while attracting pollinators. Nature's pest control at its finest.

The Growing Process

01

Seed Selection

We source open-pollinated and heirloom seeds, many saved from our own plants over decades. Each variety is chosen for flavor, nutrition, and suitability to Kagoshima's climate.

02

Soil Preparation

We enrich our volcanic soil with homemade compost, rice hull charcoal, and green manure cover crops. The mineral-rich ash from Sakurajima gives our produce a unique depth of flavor.

03

Growing & Tending

Daily hand-weeding, companion planting, and natural pest management keep plants healthy without chemicals. We mulch heavily to conserve water and build soil biology.

04

Harvest

Each vegetable is picked at peak ripeness in the cool early morning hours. We harvest by hand with sharp tools to minimize damage and preserve freshness.

05

Sorting & Packing

Produce is washed gently in spring water, sorted by size and quality, and packed by hand into subscription boxes. Each item is labeled with its harvest date.

06

Same-Day Delivery

Boxes leave the farm by noon and arrive at your door the same evening (Kagoshima) or next morning (nationwide). Cold chain logistics keep everything crisp.
